sinus balloon dilation tube
A sinus dilation balloon is a medical catheter used to dilate the sinuses when treating sinusitis or sinus lesions. It usually consists of an inflatable balloon, catheter, and dilator.
During surgery using a balloon sinus dilation catheter, the doctor first guides the catheter through the nasal cavity to the patient's sinus area. The doctor will then insert the balloon dilator into the catheter and guide it into the sinus. Once the balloon is in the sinus, the doctor inflates the balloon by injecting air or fluid into it.
When the balloon is inflated, it expands the sinus cavities and helps restore normal ventilation and drainage. The inflated balloon widens the sinus passages and relieves pressure and obstruction caused by sinusitis or sinus disease. After the procedure is complete, the doctor will remove the balloon from the sinus and withdraw the catheter.
