insemination catheter
An insemination catheter is a medical tool used in artificial insemination to guide semen into the uterus or cervix of a woman's body.
Insemination catheters are usually made of soft, flexible materials such as polyurethane or silicone. It has one end that is slender and sharp for easy insertion into the female reproductive tract, and the other end that is connected to a semen delivery device.
During artificial insemination, a doctor inserts an insemination catheter into a woman's vagina and guides it into the cervix or uterine cavity. Next, the semen is slowly injected into the woman through a catheter, ensuring that as many sperm as possible get close to the egg to increase the chance of conception.
Insemination catheters can be used in different artificial insemination techniques, such as endoscopic artificial insemination (IUI) or the artificial insemination step in assisted reproductive technology (ART).
